Success Story with Bradnam’s Windows & Doors

Improving Workplace Safety A Success Story with Bradnam’s Windows & Doors At Bradnam’s Windows & Doors in Carrum Downs, ensuring a safe work environment is a must and recently, they faced a significant challenge: The warehouse and workshop floor's staff toilets were positioned at the back of the factory, separated from the workstations by a busy forklift path. This setup posed a safety risk as staff needed to avoid stepping into the forklift area without proper caution.

Why Bradnam’s Chose Us

Having previously completed a line marking job for Bradnam’s, we had already established a relationship with them and understood their safety needs. When the time came to address the challenge of separating the workstations from the bathroom entryway, Bradnam’s turned to us. We provided a comprehensive solution that aligned with their safety goals.

The Challenge

The main challenge was to ensure the safety of staff moving between workstations and the bathroom without accidentally entering the forklift path. This required a strategic approach to create a physical barrier and implement safety measures that would prompt staff to lookout for potential hazards.

Our Solution

For this project, we recommended andimplemented two key solutions:

  1. HDP Barrier: The Heavy-Duty Polymer (HDP) Barrier is a robust polymer barrier designed to absorb impact and protect pedestrians and equipment from moving plant and vehicles within the factory. Its durable construction ensures long-lasting protection, even in high-traffic areas like Bradnam’s workshop floor.
  2. Pedestrian Gate: Alongside the HDP Barrier, we installed a pedestrian gate. This gate serves as a visual and physical reminder for personnel to Stop, Look, and Listen before proceeding into potentially unsafe areas. This simple yet effective measure helps prevent accidents and ensures that employees are mindful of their surroundings at all times.

The Results

The implementation of the HDP Barrier and pedestrian gate at Bradnam’s Carrum Downs has had a positive impact onworkplace safety:

  • Improved Safety: The barriers and gates effectively separate pedestrian pathways from forklift areas, reducing the risk of accidents.
  • Enhanced Awareness: The gates encourage staff to be more mindful and cautious when moving around the workshop.
  • Client Satisfaction: Bradnam’s was pleased with our comprehensive service, from initial consultation to project completion.
